Conversations Across the Aisle was founded in 2023 by Bill Woodson, PhD. A lifelong advocate for dialog and connection as the basis for strong communities and good decision-making, Woodson created CATA as an antidote for the information silos and political division that work to prevent us from understanding, learning from, and being invested in the well-being of our neighbors.

While it’s not unusual for participants to find consensus, consensus building is NOT the goal. Rather, our goal is to reintroduce community members to the opportunity and benefits of engaging with and learning from people who think differently, while also introducing the necessary skills and nurturing the desire for meaningful interactions that transcend ideological divisions.

Conversations Across The Aisle hosted its first workshop in October of 2023. Our goal is to build bridges capable of spanning the political divide, and heal the nation, starting right here, in our community. Bringing together people from across political parties and ideologies to rediscover the value of listening to and learning from people who think differently from ourselves.
